F.A.Q.

Q: What if I don’t have my own instrument or are unable to borrow one to bring to camp?

A: SGRRC will provide drum sets, amps, cords, etc. for those campers that need them. Our parent non-profit organization, YEAH, is proud to offer a no-cost “Instrument Library” for every program run by our Satellite Music Department. Through the generous support of the community by donations, grants, and endowments, we continue to grow our library of bass guitars, electric guitars, keyboards, drums, and amplifiers, etc. Our amazing community volunteers also donate our “no-cost” gear the week of camp.

Since our supply of equipment is limited, if you have your own equipment and accessories (such as a guitar, practice amp, drum sticks, etc.), we encourage you to bring them.

Q: Do you offer Scholarships?

A: Yes. SGRRC offers “need based” scholarships, including partial and full awards. Please visit the Forms section to download, print and submit your application.

Q: How do I get to MTSU and SGRRC camp?

A: See our Directions page.

Q: Do I have to live in Murfreesboro to participate in the SGRRC?

A: Although most of our campers and volunteers come from the Middle Tennessee area, we encourage girls from everywhere to apply. Every year we’re excited to welcome both girls and volunteers come from all over the country for this amazing week of rock & roll fun!

Q: Does SGRRC provide overnight accommodations?

A: No. SGRRC is only a day camp. Each girl who attends must provide her own accommodations for the week. However, if you are from outside of the area we can inquire with our fantastic local family and volunteer base to help you coordinate accommodations.

Q: How much does a session of Summer Camp cost?

A: $300. However, we do offer two $25 discounted registration sessions:

  • “Early registration” between Jan 1st-February 28th is $275
  • “Open Registration” begins April 1 – July 1 and is at full-cost for $300.
  • SGRRC does offer a sibling discount of $25

Q: What happens if I have to cancel my registration?

A: SGRRC will refund 75% of the tuition due to cancellation, however none will be issued after June 1.
