We’re in full-tilt boogie in SGRRC land. I hope you’re all getting as excited as we are for this summer. We’re only two months away now! I don’t know about you, but I love spoiler alerts and the excitement surrounding all of our pre-camp planning is just too much to keep to ourselves. Don’t worry, we aren’t going to give away all the details, but there are two things that Lizzie and I thought we’d share with you. Okay. Ready? Time to get super jazzed about camp…
That’s right. SIX! Can you believe the generosity? This is probably one of, if not the biggest donation we’ve gotten in our 9 years of camp! Three lucky ladies at SGRRC will be beneficiaries of their generosity, as well as three campers at our new co-ed camp, Tennessee Teens Rock Camp. If you want to send them your own “thank you” you can do so here: firstname.lastname@example.org
Speaking of TTPB, you can catch them with The Worsties, Fancytramp, and The Grayces at our fundraiser on May 5th at The Mercy Lounge:
Remember The Worsties from last year’s camp? How could you forget?! They did one of the best encores in SGRRC herstory!
Okay, time for announcement #2:
We’ve just confirmed The Ettes as performers!
I know you saw the Drew Barrymore film, Whip It, starring Ellen Page. Their song, Crown of Age, was featured on the soundtrack. They have also supported sold-out tours by The Black Keys (2008), Kings Of Leon (2009), The Dead Weather (2010) and have shared the stage with the Silversun Pickups, The New York Dolls, The Greenhornes, Jay Reatard, Metric, Gossip,
and the legends of rock and roll…
the first all-female rock band to make the Billboard charts… The Go-Go’s!
THIS IS HUGE, and we know you’re going to LOVE them as much as we do!
Okay. Back to work.
Spread the good news.
And remember, you can still get your friends sign-up for camp! You’ll also get a ‘lil discount on tuition, if you do.
